The concrete surface should be properly prepared and free from contaminants such as oil, fat, grease, existing paint residue, chemicals, and algae. . Cracks and hollow spots should also be properly repaired before application.
It is advisable to use acid using approximately 5% sulphuric acid solution, followed by thorough washing with clean water. The concrete should then be allowed to dry completely before applying Penetrative Epoxy Primer.
The substrate moisture should not exceed 4% by weight when measured electrically using a Tramex CME.
The recommended application is one coat, with a theoretical coverage of approximately 7 m² per litre per coat at 50 microns dry film thickness.
Actual coverage can vary depending on factors such as surface roughness, application method, atmospheric conditions and applicator technique.
