Nippon Paint Malaysia Launches Akademi Painter Initiative for Kelantan Entrepreneurs

Kota Bharu, 14 May 2024 – Nippon Paint Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“Nippon Paint”), the leading Total Coating & Construction Solutions provider, has kicked off its latest initiative, the “Akademi Painter” programme, aimed at upskilling local entrepreneurs and painters, a first in Kelantan. This strategic effort is designed to empower Kelantanese to contribute to the growth of the state’s economy while ensuring long-term sustainable income opportunities.
In line with the 2024 Kelantan state government development goals of focusing on a progressive economy with ‘Kelantan Mampan Berkat Sejahtera’1 the programme launch took place in Kota Bharu town, a focal point for entrepreneurs, painters, and distributors in the region, gathered enthusiastic participants eager to enhance their skills and expertise.
Mr. Tay Sze Tuck, General Manager of Nippon Paint Malaysia, expressed his pride in launching this transformative programme, stating, “We are proud to introduce this initiative to support Kelantanese business owners, painters, and partners who have stood by us. Their ongoing support has been crucial. Now it’s our turn to give back by boosting the local economy and encouraging entrepreneurship among the youth while also helping current entrepreneurs enhance their skills. We are thrilled to mark this milestone with everyone involved.”
In conjunction with the programme, Nippon Paint also introduced an innovative tool to enhance collaboration and empower local entrepreneurs and painters. Known as Partner Connect, this app offers a range of features to streamline communication and foster growth within the local applicator community. Nippon Paint aims to catalyse positive change and drive inclusive growth across Kelantan by equipping entrepreneurs and painters with advanced skills and knowledge. To further propel the attendees’ enthusiasm for their businesses, Nippon Paint awarded the dealers and painters programme certificates and the best Nippon Paint Supporter’s award.
